The king calls for a drastic fast having gone astray,
When God saw their hearts turning once again to him, God relented since they repented.
“A humbled contrite hear , O god you will not spurn”
Showing our sorrow for sins and shortcomings then God will not reject
Rather He shal show mercy and never cast us out of His presence we humbly accept,
Giving us a pure clean heart in which our love of god burns.
Jesus reminds us of the Jonah story because Nineveh is a good example,
That Nineveh repented and gained God’s blessing,
