Cm-7.31.12  Jer. 14. 17-22  Ps. 79. 8. 9, 11& 13  Mt. 13, 36-43

Cosmic connection: Beautiful blue summer skies

Question of the day: What are the weeds which threaten my faith right now?

Jeremiah is upset with things as they are:

Injustice, incurable wounds,

To the Spirit attuned,

Remember your people, O Lord consumed with hunger

The deep solitude and silence we would not mar.

For the glory of your name, O Lord, deliver us’

Remember not, O Lord our iniquities,

With your infinite compassion we seek willingly,

Let prisoners come to you sighing: you are our gracious grace-giving giver.

The disciples want Jesus to explain the parable to them,

Jesus miraculous parable speak for every age,

Those who attain the kindom will shine  like the sun in their final staged,

As member of the vine, attached always to the stem.

The seed is the Word of God,

Christ is the sower; all who come to him will live forever awed.

Cm-7.30/12   Jeremiah 13.1-11  Ps. Dt. 21. 18-19,20, 21  Mt 13. 31-35

Cosmic connection: gray overcast morning quiet until the storm

Question of the day:  What liked the mustard seed first started my awareness of God’s presence in my life?

This passage from Jeremiah is from the central part of his teaching.

It was a time of the Babylonian captivity the Jewish people are following the Babylonian’s fertility idols

Jeremiah does not want them to turn away from their God actively disloyal and idle,

Rather using the loin cloth symbol to represent the clinging to god we need to do to aid our preaching.

The Psalmist warns we may be unmindful of the God, our Rock, who created us.

We are called fickle and foolish,

Warning us we will be provoked with a foolish nation,

Calling forth from us listening as we endeavor to follow God letting God dictate.

Jesus speaks continuing in parables,

Of the mustard seed, yeast

Hidden yet mighty power to the least,

Making life graced and more than bearable.

The Father gave us birth, a wondrous feature

That by the word of truth we might become first fruits of his creatures.

Cm-7.29.12  2nd Kings 4.42-44  Ps. 145. 10-11, 15-16. 17-18  Eph. 4. 1-6  Jn 6. 1-15

Cosmic connection:  gray summer morn promising to burn off and warm up

Question of the Day: When have I been treated with unexpected generosity after I have been generous with others?

Miracle, a marvelous event, surprise wondrous happening, an act of God,

Multiplication of God gifts of food for his people so poor and destitute

Does generosity come back to you and make you resolute?

God’s generosity in supporting those born with a hereditary flaw.

Ephesians helps us to seek a unity, a oneness, compassion

So that whatever happens to one, good or evil, is happening to the other,

We are all related, universally, like the caldron in the Olympic opening sisters and brothers,

What fun it must have been for Jesus to plan a miracle his passion.

Jesus checked with his disciples about what food they had for the crowds,

Although He knew what he was going to do all along under skies with no clouds.

I bet if the crowds were really hunger they would have eaten K-rations.

When all were fed the crowds were amazed

A great prophet had arisen amongst them from the wondrous food they were dazed.

CM-7.26.12  Jeremiah 21. 1-3, 7-8, 12-13  Ps. 36. 5-6AB, 8-9, 10-11  Mt. 13. 10-17

Cosmic connection:  gray overcast skies to burn off

Question of the day: What might I do to be more receptive to Jesus’ message today?

Our focus is on real listening and real seeing sublime

From Jeremiah to the Gospel reading,

People want explanations about the parables believing,

Jesus want them to spec for themselves for the Kindom, throughout time.

With you, O Lord, is the true fountain of life,

Within God’s grace we see god’s light,

Mercy for those with hearts upright,

Seeking always the kindom and the afterlife.

Why do you speak in parables?

Jesus creating the parable found a way to instruct every day,

The parables miraculously speak throughout time sitting and pondering in every way.

Teaching us and making life more bearable.

Blessed are you our heavenly father, who to little ones reveals,

The mysteries of the Kindom, unconcealed.

CM=7.26.12  2nd Cor. 4.7-15  Ps. 126. 1DB  C-2AB, 2CD=3, 4-5, 6  Mt. 20. 20-28

Cosmic connection: Clear blue summer skies a wisp or two of gray clouds, quiet

Question of the day: What request would I want to make of Jesus to grant this day?

My spiritual friend James a Jesuit priest

Who wrote admirably for years on the mystics

A Master of linguistics,

Each lives a life the ultimate treasure as if in an earthen vessel. Brought to the feast.

‘Those who reap in tears shall reap rejoicing’

Throughout life’s ups and downs the grace in there,

We embrace it with thanksgiving just to be alive near those who really care,

When we receive communion, our tongues rejoice we affirm with a loud voice.

The sons of thunder have an ambitious mother,

But first they must drink the chalice, the cup of sacrifice,

How can one five up on life when one has such an appetite,

Still their place in heaven is up to the preparation of the Father

Christian’s have their work cut out for them; they are to serve,

Going forth to bear fruit that will last, full of nerve.

CM-7.24.12  Micah 7. 14-15, 18-20  Ps. 86. 2-4, 5-6, 7-8  Mt. 12. 46, 50

Cosmic connection: clear blue skies quiet early morning

Question of the day: How might I imitate god’s mercy and compassion today?

Our god is a god of mercy and compassion,

He removes our guilt has pity on us in His kindness,

He does not chastise us for our blindness,

For this is the god who has created us in a master fashion.

Therefore we seek daily to know this mercy and love,

He has revoked his blazing anger,

Replaced it with empathy and support without resentment to banter,

Pointing the way to seek things of the Spirit which are above.

Jesus then embraces us as the beloved,

Dancing with us throughout our day,

Adopting us as family members intimate in every way,

Letting us know as his children inheriting discipleship when a push comes to a shove.

L ET us then be grateful people consuming the Word,

Letting our sights become unblurred.

CM-7.23.12  Micah 6,1-4, 6-8  Ps. 50 / 55-6, 8-9, 16BC=17, 21 &23  Mt. 12. 38-42

Cosmic connection: clear sunny skies quiet cool early morn day?

Question of the day:  Which of Micah’s three demands do I need to attend to today?

This is the passage from Micah that we are always familiar with,

To do right, love goodness and walk humbly with our God,

It calls for deep meditation and contemplation and discernment quite awed,

Surrendering to our Trinitarian God allowing this God to be our pillar.

In biblical times animal sacrifice was the way to give back to God

Now days Micah’s three demands show us the way, do right love goodness, walk humbly,

Ours is to always to be people of praise and thanksgiving for the simple things which

Support us throughout our living out of Micah’s call no matter how hungry,

Jesus’ light to us is to adopt us as family member if we follow his Father’s will

Jesus sort of denies his mother and brother who wish to speak to him.

And proclaims those who follow the Fathers will become his family unique to him,

We praise and thank you, O God for your word to us this day give us the grace to have this will instilled.

Whoever loves the Lord will keep his word,

Doing such our life will flow in the Spirit undeterred.
